What Angela tiles, and what she doesn't.

Niche Tiling is structured around the splashback. Most weeks Angela is doing one or two of them, usually kitchens, often laundries, sometimes a feature wall. Here's the honest scope.

Kitchen splashbacks

The thing Angela does every week. New builds, retrofits, replacements after a kitchen update, she's tiled enough of them that setting out a tricky run is muscle memory now.

Glossy subway is the most common ask. Handmade-look is the most-asked-about. Large-format slate-grey is the newest direction. Whatever tile you've already chosen, bring it, she'll work with it.

Pricing: single-wall kitchen splashbacks generally start around $400 supply-and-install of labour (tile, adhesive and grout vary depending on what you've picked). She'll give you a firm number once she's seen the wall.

the awkward ones

Laundry splashbacks

Laundries are usually a narrow, low-ceilinged room with a tub, a sink, or both, and an awkward run of wall that needs five or six courses of tile sitting flush against the cabinetry.

This is exactly the kind of small, fiddly job most tilers won't quote. Angela built the brand around them. If your builder or kitchen company has said "we don't do small ones", call her instead.

Bathroom wall tiling

Wall tiling around baths, behind vanities, niche shelves, and feature walls. Angela works alongside your builder, plumber or bathroom designer, she's not running the wet-area waterproofing or the plumbing.

If you're renovating a bathroom and need the wall tiles done by someone who treats them as the finish that everyone sees, this is the lane.

feature work

Feature & patterned tiles

Moroccan stars, picket, fish-scale, herringbone, anything off the standard 75 x 300 rectangle. Setting out the pattern so it lands cleanly in the middle of the wall is half the work.

If you've fallen for a particular tile and you're worried it's too tricky for a normal install, send Angela a photo. There's a fair chance she's tiled it before.

Epoxy grouting

For splashbacks behind the cooktop, sink, or anywhere that's going to cop the most cleaning, epoxy grout makes sense. It's harder wearing, water resistant, and far less likely to stain than standard cementitious grout.

It's also fiddlier to apply, you've got a much shorter working time. Angela does it on splashback jobs where the tile and the use case justify the upgrade.
