The name on the Facebook page is "Niche Small Jobs" for a reason, that's the corner of the market she chose to own. The half-day jobs and one-wall splashbacks that builders, kitchen companies and bigger tiling outfits keep saying no to.

She's been tiling long enough that the awkward corners and the fiddly handmade tiles don't faze her. Most of her customers come from word-of-mouth: a kitchen designer who has a client with one wall to retile, a homeowner whose builder is "too busy", another tradesperson who's heard she'll quote the small ones.

The Facebook page sits at facebook.com/nichesmalljobs with a 100 percent recommendation rate from her customers there.

2. On-site quote

For anything beyond a simple single-wall splashback she'll pop in to measure and confirm. Fixed-price quote, no obligation.

3. Book a day

Most splashback jobs are one to two days on site. Angela schedules them tightly so you're not blocked from using your kitchen for long.

4. Tiled and grouted

Tile, grout, and a clean finish. Photo for her portfolio (with your permission) and an invoice.
